Why was I born in australia?

That's one of the benefits of melbourne I guess, it's not just the occasional gourmet deli that imports foreign food - it's fricken all of them. Well a lot. Although for some damn reason it's so damn hard to find prosciuto. I am not a fan of the million and one salami's - but like my cured/semi-cured Pork products.

Someone wants to give me and my 2 siblings $5k. Now I am torn as to whether my scepticism over it being a possible scam and my debt being reduced a bit. Have one more aspect to check out tomorrow to see if it's a valid trust/insurance payout company, two avenues seem all clear so far.

So, I watched Juno. Quite impressed actually. A little slow at points, but overall quite a good, mostly unique movie. Simple, but entertaining. Go watch it.

p.s. Dodgy old fluoro lights + white shirt + shiny screen = bad reflections. Lets see if they replace the light fixture when they do the roof tiles and desks for the office area next week.

Solid wood cabinet/hutch - display cabinet thing with cupboard underneath.

Futon sofa bed - fold out queen size futon bed, frame and matress, good quality.

Olympus C-220 zoom 2 mp digital camera +128 meg mem card, 3x optical zoom - minor focus problem, but works great.

alrighty peeps. in case you haven't noticed... I've posted very little lately on _nightshadow... The webserver I am hosted on had to be rebuilt, new PHP install and until some PHP settings are changed the blog site will remain dead.
latest updates - http://photos.nightshadow.co.uk is now up. Still working on the front page, but check out my Photo Portfolio and let me know what you think. A few shots need to be replaced for better scans from negatives (when i get the film scanner working properly).. the rest are digital.
Christmas was good.
Due to incredibly generous inlaws we now have a second car.. a 1.5l automatic..some people have auto licences..
However, the car is a brand new suzuki swift Z series.

yeah, taking some time off work.. feels wrong. Will be back at it soon :(
Going to take a lot of photos soon, in that mood.
I hate this brisbane weather!

steph is sick, i am fighting something off.
umm.. work is boring.
we are getting inspected by the OGTR tomorrow or friday at work. The office of the Gene Technology Regulator - the hardcore boys that make sure we aren't doing any dodgy genetic manipulations. If something isn't approved or has a decent record they will throw it out.

Walking to work everyday now, tis good, even the walk home at night. its not too far which is good. Since i am doing like no fitness atm, apart from indoor soccer.
_nightshadow is still down awaiting the backup data - we better get the data retrieved.

well you see, the Queensland Police force deemed from 2659m away and across 4 lanes of traffic that I was doing 79 in a 60 zone. It pisses me off, cause i sped up momentarily to overtake a car and get into the left lane. I don't think i got anywhere near 79 but hey, the guy was a dick. He also quickly checked the car out but didn't mention anything apart from asking if it was a turbo (lol).
i have 1 pt left on my license now till january when i get my opens.

anyway i was bored shitless most of the weekend.
saw I, robot friday night then went cruising for a bit. good movie.
briefly went to my parents sat morning. my dad is more annoying then ever.
took steph to visit her grandma in a nursing home in rosewood sat arvo. stayed at home saturday night, watched hwo to lose a guy in 10 days and enigma on Flatmate's new TV with This sound.
sunday i worked in the morning... then played indoor soccer (x2) we lost our real match then drew the one that didn't count for the Bismarcks.
got the speeding on my way to play outdoor, got pissed off. and just went grocery shopping. then i cleaned the kitchen as there was nothing better to do.
what fun!

what is everyone's guilty indulgences... what do you all like to waste your money on even though you know you shouldn't ?
I was trying to think of what mine was, and apart from alcohol sometimes (which is a complete waste of money) I don't think i have many indulgences.
dvd's - I don't need them
cheeses - i love random foreign cheeses, damn expensive but they taste so good.
my car - it needs the brakes looked at and the electrics, but i waste money on lots of other stuff that doesn't need touching.

aight so.. chilled at home friday with my baby.
sat still hadn't fixed the stupid wiring in my car sp so couldn't go to my sisters and her fiances place at the coast.
went and saw hidalgo (good movie, long but not bad) and ate, drank etc.
went to my parents for dinner.
went to the RE and visited lauren who is visiting from japan atm. she seems to be loving it there.
spent the weekend driving around in toms ford laser (wih the bigg as spoiler etc etc)... kinda sad (he was at straddy).
chilled this morning. steoh made me breakfast in bed. then went to the valley, chilled, ate, had happy cup then went to indoor soccer.
we won 5-4. went to lab, picked tom up from ferry and watch indiana jones and the last crusade.

i had to drop my car into the smash repairer to get my bonnet fixed/painted.
i left there at 7.30 (archerfield, right near the airport). went to catch the bus to work, i had just missed one. The next one was suppose to be 34minutes later, it was at about 45 minutes later.
The bus that rocked up was a full coach, one of the old greyhound-pioneer coaches (still had badge on seats). I was thinking sweet.

they really don't work as buses for a local service. They are slow and just too inconvenient, narrow path, steep stairs, no room for prams etc...
anyway what takes 10 mins to drive took me 1 1/2 hrs on the bus. I love buses, no really.

There was this guy (~50 or so) that said to a 65yo , "we're riding in luxury today, colour tv and all".. i think she thought he was trying to crack onto her, as did I. it was funny and i was thinking what a dirty old sleeze etc...
he then said it to like 4 other people and I realised he was probably slightly retarded.. i feel like a dick.
